Evros pays homage to the famous river that winds its way through the magnificent landscapes of Thrace. Its source is in the Bulgarian Rila Mountains, from where it makes its way to its mouth not far from Enez in the Aegean Sea. Enez, formerly known as Ainos, is famous in Greek mythology, and the River Evros is mentioned by Homer. It was considered the link between Europe and the Ottoman Empire and was therefore repeatedly the scene of historical events.
As the border river between Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey, the Evros is also known as the Maritsa and Merits – and it is said that its ancient Greek name, Έβρος, was the inspiration for the name of the European continent.
In the spotlight of Evros is a precious ingredient for which both Bulgaria and Turkey have been known for centuries – the rose. The scent of a sea of flowers in brilliant rose red, velvety and proud, forms the distinctive heart of the perfume. Delicate raspberries and a hint of citrus freshness in the top notes evoke an early summer morning. The gaze wanders over the rose fields, bathed in a gentle mist, interwoven with the first rays of the day's sun. Fertile soil, dew-covered greenery, framed by dark green, shimmering forests. A rose chypre of authentic nature, like a watercolour by a master's hand – Evros.
