Ever since people have been falling in love, love potions have been brewed to deliberately evoke this feeling in others. These magic potions are called ‘philtres’. When drunk, the drinker falls immortally in love with the creator. Just like in the story of Tristan and Isolde or the fate that befalls Titania in ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’.
Perfumes are the love potions of our time – powerful and beguiling, with the power to change a mood in an instant. This is my version. No unicorn dust or dragon's blood, just the most beautiful flowers in the world, spices and resins that entwine around the flower of love: the carnation. To be used with caution.
Carnation: Intensely floral, honeyed, with lively spicy facets. This raw material is extracted from the petals of the carnation.
Mistwort: A warm spice with a rich sweetness. Adds depth and complexity to floral notes.
Rose: Radiant and lush, with green and peppery notes. Complements the romance of carnation beautifully.
Did you know?
Carnation is considered the ‘flower of the gods’ and has long been a symbol of romance, representing love, fascination and elegance.
