Hiram drew inspiration for this perfume from the natural splendour of Arcadia. In this idyllic, unspoilt wilderness, babbling brooks wind their way through mountains covered with dense forests, and the air is filled with the humming of insects and the chirping of birds.
Imagine the lush undergrowth covering the forest floor. Where the sun breaks through the canopy, fragrant flowers bask in the warmth, their sweet scent mingling with the fresh green of the foliage.
Arcadia is one of the classic fragrances known as fougère or fern-like perfumes. Since there is no natural fern scent oil, fougère perfumes always consist of a combination of fragrance oils that resemble the scent of ferns. Aromatic French lavender and Italian bergamot dominate the top notes of Arcadia, before jasmine and rose add floral nuances. Tonka bean, mature patchouli and sandalwood from New Caledonia add depth to the composition.
Lavender: This sweet, herbaceous, green-floral fragrance, combined with bergamot, gives the composition a refreshing opening.
Tonka bean: Powdery-sweet with a soft finish of hay and almonds. Gives the perfume velvety depth.
Sandalwood: Warm, sweet and smooth, sandalwood gives fragrances a creamy texture and goes well with fresh aromas.
Did you know?
Arcadia belongs to the classic fragrance family of fougères. The name is derived from the French word for ‘fern’. As there is no natural fragrance oil from ferns, fougère fragrances are composed to evoke the scent of ferns – green and mossy.
