Fragrances have always played a special role in the life of Yvo van Regteren Altena. During holidays with his eccentric grandmother, who never left the house without spraying herself all over with perfume, Yvo and his siblings would bet on who could guess the name of the fragrance from her extensive perfume collection. Yvo never lost a single bet.

As a well-known journalist, Yvo immersed himself in the world of the great fragrance houses. This is how he came to know and appreciate the renowned perfumers Claude Ellena of Hermès and Francois Demachy of Dior. He had his own fragrance created, which was initially intended only for himself. This creative journey began in 2013. Due to the unusual combination of different ingredients, his fragrance attracted so much attention that the launch of YVRA 58 in the Netherlands at the end of 2015 was the highlight so far. The name of the fragrance refers to Yvo's initials and his date of birth.
