More about Nicolaï
Nicolai is one of the few perfume houses still privately owned. Patricia de Nicolaï is the niece of the famous perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain. Growing up in the world of fragrances, she became a true artist. After training as a perfumer, she initially worked in a prestigious team of international perfumers on behalf of renowned houses before founding ‘Les Parfums de Nicolai’ with her husband Jean-Louis Michau in 1989.
Patricia de Nicolaï loves natural essences, but also unusual combinations, and enjoys working free from the price and marketing constraints of the fragrance industry. Her creations are characterised by high proportions of pure natural essences as well as daring combinations and intense concentrations. Her own line began with the now legendary men's fragrance ‘New York’.
In the room fragrance sector, she is a pioneer in the use of highly concentrated natural essences instead of synthetic fragrances. Her wonderful perfume lamps are particularly popular here.
