The nostalgic atmosphere is reminiscent of the darkest English horror novels, transposed to a Parisian bar of the Belle Époque with an extensive library of Russian high literature in valuable editions. The seemingly random overlay of styles, eras and visual impressions is intentional and condenses into a kind of imaginary barrier to the outside world. The poets of the new millennium find complete freedom of expression here and present their works, animated by contradictory emotions. These combine a vibrant style with fascinating clarity.
Right from the start, More Than Words is slightly fruity and sweet, mixed with a dominant wood and smoke accord. The latter is composed of notes such as incense, ambergris and labdanum. This gives the perfume a sensual, intimate depth while playing with strong contrasts: the innocent fruit note surrenders to the sinful oriental accord. A symbiosis is created, giving More Than Words a mysterious and almost wicked quality. Like a deep blue veil of the finest silk swaying in the cool night breeze, a gentle mist of incense rises again and again. You can almost smell the books waiting for their admirers on the majestic shelves of venerable libraries.
The poetry continues at the heart of the fragrance, where a particularly precious note appears, albeit in small quantities. But it is enough to give the eau de parfum an opulent character: it is the legendary oud! This raw material seduced the Arab world decades ago, and today this type of wood has managed to captivate the entire fragrance world. It is therefore a logical step to weave a little of its essence into a fragrance as graceful as More Than Words. Normally, oud has the property of completely dominating a fragrance. Not so in this case, where it blends harmoniously into the overall picture of ambergris, labdanum and incense, as well as a delicate floral note. At the end of the More Than Words fragrance development, a gentler tone emerges. After the oud has blossomed, the eau de parfum becomes more restrained and is characterised by a quiet presence.
