Mefisto is, in a sense, an Italian-Oriental fragrance for men.
Mefisto pays homage to classic Italian colognes. The fragrance opens with fresh notes of grapefruit, lemon and bergamot, leading down a multifaceted path to a classic floral heart of rose and Florentine iris. The base of Mefisto consists of cedar and sandalwood notes, accompanied by sensual notes of musk and ambergris. While the top and heart notes of Mefisto reflect the classic Italian characteristics of the composition, the base with its lush accords of soft and delicious notes provides an oriental finish.
The Casamorati 1888 collection, launched by the perfume house Xerjoff, reflects the history of the magnificent fragrance house of the same name, which was founded in Italy between the 18th and 19th centuries.
La Fabbrica di Profumi C. Casamorati specialised in the production of exquisite fragrances, including Profumeria Fina alla Violetta Ideale, an elegant violet perfume. The range also includes a variety of sophisticated bath soaps. Over the years, Casamorati has received numerous awards from important national and international personalities. The most extraordinary and certainly the most prestigious recognition was received by Signor Casamorati from Her Majesty Queen Margarethe of Italy herself: during a visit to one of the national exhibitions, Her Highness was so impressed by the quality of the soaps that she presented the perfumer with a golden pin as a token of her gratitude and deep respect.
Xerjoff, itself known and loved for its high-quality and exclusive fragrances, has set itself the goal of preserving the historical and artistic heritage of the glamorous Casamorati era. Some of the original historical recipes have been carefully revised and relaunched – so that the spirit of Casamorati will live on forever!
