Truefitt & Hill - 1805 - Cologne

1805 dates back to 1850, when Truefitt was commissioned by prominent figures from the worlds of culture, science, politics and business to develop exclusive and unique fragrances.

The modern recipe from 1805 lay unused in the archives for over a century until it was finally revised and redesigned in 1998.

1805 commemorates the year Francis Truefitt opened his first barber shop.

1805 is a fresh, oceanic fragrance with notes of bergamot, cypress, mandarin and cardamom.

Mehr über Truefitt & Hill

Truefitt & Hill is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest barbershop in the world. It is therefore hardly surprising that the company can look back on a long history.

Over the last 200 years, it has served important figures such as King George III and the Duke of Edinburgh. To this day, members of the royal family, celebrities and prominent figures from the world of culture are among the customers of Truefitt & Hill.

The history of the company began in 1805, when Francis Truefitt opened his gentlemen's barber shop in London, which moved to Old Bond Street in 1811. There, Truefitt became the wig maker to the court and was also responsible for all royal hair matters. The business flourished immensely.

In 1911, another barber shop opened on the same street – Edwin Hill & Co. The two shops merged when Truefitt moved his shop to this address in 1935, giving rise to the name Truefitt & Hill, which still exists today and was adopted for all other branches in 1941. The current address at 71 St. James's Street was taken up on Valentine's Day 1994.

Today, the company offers a wide range of men's fragrances. The products are produced with high-quality, natural fragrances and reflect the noble spirit and time-honoured tradition of Truefitt & Hill.
