Tiziana Terenzi - Delox

This creation is inspired by the journey by sailing boat around the Cyclades islands of the Greek archipelago and its bouquet contains all the colours and flavours of the most genuine and southernmost Mediterranean.

The essence of summer, without a care in the world, and full of inebriating scents blown into the area by the “Meltemi” (typical wind of these latitudes), with its warm, sensual embrace, is magically contained in this fragrance inspired by the unspoiled, ancestral beauty of the Mediterranean.

The strong aroma of coffee, made in an ancient “moka” (typical coffee-making machine) floats through the crisp morning air, penetrated by the iridescent light reflected in the sea. The gaze immediately hurtles towards that infinite blue, framed by plants and flowers with a strong scent, made even sweeter and more mellow by the faraway reverberation of scents of honey and sweet amber resin.

Precious essences jealously guarded in ultra-fine glass bottles, which recall the ancient splendours of the island, still there in the form of its famous ruins of the temples of Apollo where Ulysses landed during his epic adventures.

The hypnotic force of white hyacinth, combined with the opulence of royal iris and ecstasy rose, surrenders itself to the embrace of sweet myrrh and roasted coffee, against a fine background of amber and cypress notes, mellowed by hints of honey. The entire combination is enhanced by the strong hint of Lebanese cedar wood.

How wonderful it is to awaken, wrapped in the wonder of discovery, retracing our past in order to see a clearer reflection of our future!

The Terenzi family: the story of men and women who understood how to capture the ‘absolute’ in a drop of perfume and ‘life’ in a ‘drop of wax’.

The Cereria Terenzi

The Cereria Terenzi was founded 40 years ago in Cattolica, in a space measuring just 16 square metres (172 square feet). The founder, Evelino Terenzi, wanted to continue the family tradition with a great deal of innovation, as his father Guglielmo had been involved in setting up a wax production business that made devotional and Easter candles for churches. He initially worked with his father and mother, who was called Luigia, until he pursued his own interest in making birthday candles. He owed his initial success to the invention of a new type of wax that made candles more resistant to impact, but also to his own idea of making candles that could essentially be used as food without posing any health risks. He decided to use food-grade paraffin, which greatly improved the safety of the candles. This was particularly innovative at the time, as environmental and health issues were not nearly as important as they are today. From then on, the company grew to become the most important wax producer in Italy and one of the most important in Europe. This provided work for many people. Today, San Giovanni in Marignano is at the forefront of the company. Just a few kilometres away in Cattolica live Evelino's children, Paolo and Tiziana, who carry on the spirit of the founder and his respect for this ancient and fine craft, a craft whose origins are lost in the mists of time.

Paolo and Tiziana made a conscious decision to continue on this path of respect for the environment, their employees and the health of their customers. Tiziana Terenzi, manager, design and creative director, says: ‘A candle is beauty; you cannot create beauty without also creating well-being. Beautiful things must also be good things.’ This is why the Cereria has received many awards over the years, including the ‘Crescita Responsabile’ prize, which is awarded to companies that stand out for their ethical approach, their concern for social issues and environmental protection, and their membership of the Banca delle Eccelenze to promote the ‘Made in Italy’ concept. Recognition and awards are undoubtedly a sign of appreciation. However, when you hear the Terenzi siblings talk about the history of the company, it becomes clear how much they value the idea of following in the footsteps of their father Evelino in terms of fairness and correctness: his ancestors were also pioneers of an ancient and honourable craft, which has now been enriched by innovative technology and ethical business practices. In the land of engines and mechanics, technical ingenuity becomes creativity, which in turn is expressed in functional design and a tireless passion for research and development.
