The immediate encounter of lemon, orange and bergamot reveals a colourful opening reminiscent of the magnificent landscapes in the homeland of the Queen of Sheba. Similar to an eau de cologne, the top notes give way to a fragrant hint of camphor, Tunisian rosemary and black pepper, evoking the queen's zest for life.
Its richness is symbolised by a royal cluster of flowers: orange blossom and tuberose form a sensual heart note, joined by Egyptian jasmine, which adds volume to the bouquet and brings it to bloom. Irresistible coconut milk envelops the petals, lending the white flowers a sublime softness that caresses the skin.
The power of the queen is embodied by a base of precious woods that give the sillage depth and offer a multifaceted elegance. Sandalwood, molecularly distilled patchouli, Atlas cedarwood and musk round off the fragrance with smoky nuances.
"For the creation of Aksoum, I worked with lush flowers: mainly tuberose and jasmine. For me, they evoke the aura of sensuality and attraction that emanated from the powerful Queen of Sheba. I combined these sun-loving flowers with a base of precious woods, which lend the sillage depth and a multifaceted elegance." — Dominique Ropion
