A glowing violet wood. The name is derived from stallion (male horse) and Helios (sun god).
In the 18th century, a merchant ship sailing from Saint Petersburg to Genoa was shipwrecked, its holds loaded with Russian reindeer leather. More than two centuries later, a French tannery reproduced the special quality of this material, and Pierre Guillaume obtained a few strips of this precious purple leather. This noble leather exudes a warm, delicate scent of infinite preciousness, an animal elegance... the scent of luxury. This material will be at the heart of this fragrance, symbolised by a fire horse: a powerful stallion, elegant and racy, fiery like the sun: Stælios.
A glowing violet wood... Stælios is an eau de parfum infused with woody and floral notes. Luxurious notes of Russian leather envelop violet wood, which is soaked in fiery davana liqueur and spiced with Ashanti pepper leaves. Rich in natural elements and voluminous, powerful ingredients, Stælios creates a strong, impressive sillage and a long-lasting presence. Pierre Guillaume chose photographer Sasha Olsen and model Louis Nichols to embody his new creation: Stælios.
Sasha Olsen, who regularly works for L'Officiel, GQ and Yummy, has perfectly captured Louis's magnetic beauty and Olympian good looks in an image that also reflects the fragrance's colour palette. In a play of light and shadow, a man's face appears in a bed of brown and purple flowers.
"When I compose a perfume, I naturally have images, places and faces in my mind that develop in my imagination around the perfume story, which I then try to materialise... a mental mood board that inspires my creative process of olfactory retelling. When I first met Louis, it was like interacting with a character from my imagination. Louis is an athlete who, with his elegant appearance and blond curls, looks like a Greek statue that attracts everyone's attention. I've seen the effect he has on women and men, but Louis inspires not only with his looks, but also with his personality and values. Modelling is a playful side effect that allows him to discover the world, but he always introduces himself as a farmer first. The man is a cattle breeder and grows grapes for various cognac houses – you couldn't make it up! Authentic and sincere, Louis shares with Stælios an immediate, almost animal attraction and an elegant heart, which in my eyes is of the utmost importance. In all these ways, he embodies my creation wonderfully.
