The challenge in creating Rose Nue was, on the one hand, to express the natural and pure facets of the rose in all its beauty and perfection. On the other hand, to capture the sensual and voluptuous dimensions of the rose when it becomes an absolute. The aim was therefore to imagine a new rose, a fantasy rose... its true essence had to be brought to the fore, its plant character, but it also had to be refined, sensual and seductive. The rose had to reveal its sensual and ambiguous sweetness, more seductive than it appears: a scent of skin... exciting.
Delphine Lebeau, who had already created four magnificent perfumes for Les Parfums de Rosine at that time, Vive la Mariée, Ballerina No. 1 and Ballerina No. 3, as well as La Cologne Rose Océan, recognised how Rose Nue could be imagined. The scent of crushed rose petals and green mandarin immediately evokes the character of a real flower, a plant. The aldehydes accentuate this natural sharpness. After this initial contact, the voluptuousness of rose absolute is revealed. Its natural gentle sweetness is accentuated by bourbon vanilla – so sensual and almost animalistic – and heliotrope. The suede notes are softened by ambroxan and musk. A perfume in which transparency reveals a pure essence.
This delicate rose with particularly natural aspects was designed with infinite attention to detail by the famous Pierre-Joseph Redoute and bears the enchanting name ‘Cuisse de Nymphe’ (Nymph's Thigh). It comes from 16th-century Crimea, and its pale pink colour alone reflects the feeling of bare skin. The English called it Maiden's Blush at the time... Wanting to be a little more explicit, some 18th-century horticulturalists christened it ‘Cuisse de Nymphe Emue’ (Nymph's Thigh)... Marie-Hélène and Louis Rogeon were inspired by the story of this rose and created this perfume: Rose Nue.
A skin-coloured rose, soft and velvety... A rose in all its beauty, simplicity and openness. A rose you want to pick: A ‘Rose Nue’.
