... or peaceful life.
The art of light shines through this new creation, which is best described by terms such as ‘starlight’ or ‘primordial shimmer’.
The exotic and luminous ‘Still Life in Rio’ is a new and unique fragrance that opens with yuzu, ginger, mint and lemon essence. It unfolds and warms with a pepper blend, Jamaican allspice and coconut water, and closes with rum and Brazilian copaiba essences.
Still Life in Rio – Flávio Veloso
Olfactive Studio presents ‘Still Life in Rio’. A new setting, a new goal and a new feeling for a fragrance that is by no means overshadowed by ‘Still Life’, but shines in its own right.
A new approach to portraying the dual meaning of the term ‘still life’ – ‘still life’ or ‘quiet life’. On the one hand, ‘still life’ refers to a popular technique in photography where light is crucial and thus emphasises the intensity of the cheerful and lively fragrance of the same name. On the other hand, the term means ‘quiet’ or ‘peaceful life’. Olfactive Studio focuses on this second meaning and on Rio.
Rio de Janeiro: this wonderful city, captivating and enchanting. This Rio lies under a sky illuminated by the dawn, which encourages contemplative serenity.
For the first time, Olfactive Studio has chosen a place as its theme, but the approach remains consistently photographic. A unique perspective on the bay that opens up before the eye: Brazilian photographer Flávio Veloso, who took the picture, captured the beauty of Rio at a unique moment when the sky was illuminated by a golden halo. At dawn, he went to the iconic Corcovado mountain, where the majestic statue of Christ stands. The image was taken from the viewing platform at the top. A moment full of power and grandeur. ‘Still Life in Rio’ is a lively scene depicting the spectacle of awakening.
All the elements are in balance, above the water, on the ledge. A truly hypnotic landscape with countless small islands, the Sugarloaf Mountain clearly visible, the magnificent waters of Guanabara Bay; an incomparable light, gentle vegetation and the towers of the city; shadows fell through the balustrade of the stone balcony when this photograph was taken. Dawn – the beginning of a new work.
A visual ballet that exudes poetic emotion. Rio awakens. It is this dynamic of renewal that ‘Still Life in Rio’ captures. A lively and expansive fragrance that promises a day full of light and movement.
