Fresh and captivating, Rose Shot pays homage to the queen of flowers with a unique essence of Turkish rose. The top note reveals the powerful scent of pink pepper, bergamot and elemi resin, rounded off by the milky notes of white flowers.
As the rose reveals all its facets, guaiac wood adds smoky accents, underscored by Atlas cedarwood and tree moss.
Collection Sepia, extracts of haute parfumerie
Sepia, the new collection from Olfactive Studio, sees the light of day: six Extrait de Parfums whose precious and refined compositions reveal the scent of exceptional and highly concentrated raw materials (20%). In each Extrait de Parfum in the Sepia Collection, a raw material or an accord plays the leading role. The first trio in the collection was created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, who drew inspiration from the land art landscapes of photographer Martin Hill. The opening trilogy, comprising Vanilla Shot, Leather Shot and Chypre Shot, focuses on the scents of vanilla, leather and a chypre accord.
The second trilogy is the work of perfumer Dominique Ropion. Inspired by three photographs by Roberto Greco, this floral triptych combines the olfactory and visual worlds with the creations Iris Shot, Violet Shot and Rose Shot. Photography and fragrances echo each other and thus reinforce one another. The bottle reflects at first glance what makes this new collection so special. While the clean lines and wave shape moulded into the glass, characteristic of Olfactive Studio, have been retained, the bottle in the new collection is wrapped in a sienna-coloured leather sleeve. The cap stands out in a copper-coloured ochre tone, as does the metal plate below the neck. The colour palette is reminiscent of the sepia tones of old photographs that we cherish as memories. The elegant, soft and warm leather gives a first hint of the nature of the fragrance composition: precious, elegant and revealing an exquisite raw material whose concentration and processing elevate the fragrance to the class of haute parfumerie.
From the root to the petals
The ‘shot’ is as sensual as it is photographic; a single striking photo taken at just the right moment. These three extraits de parfum have been powerfully and impressively designed, and the accompanying photographs help to intensify this graceful mood.
This second trilogy in the Sepia Collection is dedicated to flowers and is a first for Olfactive Studio. Until now, the collections have tended to feature woody and spicy fragrance creations. The trilogy is a revelation, an unprecedented event to be celebrated with a floral bouquet of fragrances.
Rose, iris and violet play the leading roles in the individual extraits de parfum. Each flower is a classic in perfumery. Dominique Ropion has succeeded in reinventing the flowers and expressing the incredible richness of these classic fragrances. Iris Shot is a tribute to the iris root, while Violet Shot enchants us with a note of violet leaves. In Rose Shot, rose petals reveal their seductive powers. Céline Verleure, artistic director at Olfactive Studio, convinced Dominique Ropion, a true lover and master of flowers, to pay tribute to them once again: a collaboration that demonstrates the mutual trust between the two, which has existed since they worked together on a Kenzo perfume 24 years ago.
This connection is as unfaded as the flowers captured by photographer Roberto Greco. These eternal objects of beauty are so captivating that you cannot take your eyes off them. The photo series of timeless and eternally blooming fresh flowers was created especially for the trilogy and inspired the perfumer to create his fragrance compositions.
