Nettuno is a scented vision, a mirror of our soul, an olfactory tribute to the planet Neptune (Italian: Nettuno). As with all Mendittorosa creations, it is born from real passion and love, this time as the result of an artistic collaboration from Stefania Squeglia – Founder and Creative Director of Mendittorosa Odori d'Anima, the Italian poet and renowned astrology expert Marco Pesatori, talented French perfumer Amelie Bourgeois and a range of Italian artisans.
Marco Pesatori's poem, “The Neptune's flight” inspired Stefania Squeglia, to create this remarkable project: a real astrological perfume: Nettuno.
Stefania Squeglia was always fascinated by the magic and mysteries of astrology and decided to evoke the astrological meaning and symbolism of the planet Neptune which traditionally represents the energy and sensibility of our artistic side, transformation, freedom, spirituality, liquidity....
Nettuno has no limits; it lives a dream life, where everything is possible. We do not know everything about ourselves - when we see our reflection in the mirror, the mirror shows an image yet it only reveals one side... Nettuno, as in Pesatori's poem represents the dusty memory of a mirror flying through the galaxy of life.
Nettuno: The Scent
Nettuno is a scented mirror, the gate to reach your own way of living and experiencing the energy and spirituality of the planet Neptune. It was real challenge to capture the dual, mirror nature of Nettuno, yet it was finally achieved by blending the astral power of flowers, gourmand rose, comforting and powdery notes of dusty iris, musks and leather, together with a very rare note of blue ginger.
As with most of Mendittorosa Odori d'Anima creations, Stefania Squeglia collaborated with French trained perfumers for the creation of Nettuno. Amelie Bourgeois the nose behind Nettuno is co-founder of Flair Paris creative Studio and works for several prestigious niche fragrance brands. After long creative consultations and several trials, the challenging dual-mirror nature of Nettuno had been finally been translated into a fragrance. The creative process was supported by Stefania's long-time friend and Mendittorosa collaborator, Jakub Piotrowicz – fragrance expert and co-founder of Persefume magazine.
Nettuno: The Packaging- Symbols of True Art
Many talents joined forces to create the unique packaging for this extraordinary fragrance. The unique Nettuno “juice” is guarded in a heavy glass bottle (made in France) designed by Stefania Squeglia and Luisa Degli Specchi, expert in mosaic creations. Each bottle is hand-decorated by Luisa making every Nettuno piece truly unique.
The bottle is hidden in a handcrafted wooden box – signature symbol of all Mendittorosa fragrances. It is the exact replica of boxes used to transport precious works of art and is designed by Alessandro Reggioli.
