‘Baccarat Rouge 540 is the result of Maison Francis Kurkdjian's encounter with the House of Baccarat. The fragrance celebrates the 250th anniversary of the legendary crystal house. I am fascinated by the magical interplay between nature and man. Both Baccarat and Maison Francis Kurkdjian transform raw materials to create something new and sensual. To obtain the unique Baccarat red, 24-carat gold dust is added to the crystal during the melting process. It is then heated to 540 degrees. At this temperature, the crystal acquires its legendary red colour. I wanted to capture the contrast between the transparency of the crystal and the density of this unique and exclusive red colour in a fragrance that is both radiant and intense.
