In the 1920s, Jacques Guerlain was inspired by N°5 and Ernest Beaux by Shalimar. Some say that ‘Cherlain’ was born out of the mutual admiration between these two perfumers. This dashing chypre is Arnaud's homage to these two monuments of classic perfumery. A special composition full of emotion.
Mémoire du Futur / Memory of the Future / What does this chypre have that others don't? Its boldness lies in the fact that it is not vintage, but retro-futuristic. A ‘synthetic’ chypre without the slightest hint of coquetry.
The story is beautiful: rose, iris, carnation and violet prolong a prelude of aldehydes. Chypre is reinvented without falling into an old-fashioned style: a real challenge. Ultimately, isn't the past the memory of the future ...?
