L'Arc Perfumes is a unique perfume house rooted in a love of art and travel. It is named after a key element of architecture: the arch, a structural element that spans the opening between two points, like a bridge connecting two worlds.
L'Arc as a metaphor perfectly illustrates the ambition of the house: each fragrance invites you to cross over to another shore, whether physical or spiritual, as in an olfactory odyssey. L'Arc invites us on a true odyssey of the senses.
The Odyssey
An odyssey is a long period full of adventures and extraordinary events (as in the story of Odysseus). L'Arc bridges the distance between countries around the world in search of the best natural and organically grown ingredients from sustainable sources.
Established in Grasse, the perfume house pays tribute to French perfume culture and to our adventurer, whose first entry in his travel diary begins at the gateway to the Mediterranean. French perfumers Julien Rasquinet and Jean-Claude Astier, Swiss perfumer Marc-Daniel Heimgartner and Spanish perfumer Christian Carbonnel took on the task of bringing the memories of the master perfumer and architect to life.
They created two distinct, complementary collections: Voyage Odyssey & Memoire Odyssey
The fragrances of L'Arc originate from the discovery of a historic travel journal from the late 18th century that belonged to Maître de Claude, an extraordinary French master architect and perfumer. His infinitely rich writings are a wonderful testimony to a new era, a legacy of enlightenment that opened the entire world to the search for knowledge, science, different cultures and artistic exchange.
It is also the story of a remarkable man, a true pioneering adventurer who left France to embark on an astonishing journey that eventually took him to South America. Along the way, his passion for architecture became equal to his passion for perfume. ‘Voyage Odyssey’ is a declaration of love to the world, an ode to its diverse cultures.
