Verdigris is the colour of patina on copper surfaces. Its elegant green, interspersed with grey particles, is reminiscent of salt deposited by the ocean breeze on the roofs of Mediterranean houses. The classic citrus freshness plays only a minor role here – where proud Italian lemons and oranges usually take centre stage, they form only a subtle backdrop. Verdigris deconstructs the classic chypre and brilliantly reassembles its traditional elements. The silky floral bouquet – freesia, rose and reseda – is infused with spicy notes of nutmeg and coriander. Against this backdrop, the wet, shimmering calone is transparent, almost white. Not sweet, but appetising. Expressive, although woody, but only subtly so. Ethereal yet loud. Verdigris, salt as icy as snow.
Inspiration
Is it possible to have a sea without blue? Verdigris takes the maritime theme to a whole new level, moving towards the land. And meets at the intersection of sky, air and sun.
