‘His half-open lips fell on mine and the universe was forgotten.’ – Alfred de Musset
When Isabey launched Prends-moi (take me) in Paris in the early 1930s with a spelling mistake on the label, ‘Prends-Mois’, it was the last perfume created for the North American market, this time with a minimalist design. It was a bold move at the time to name a perfume Prends-moi (take me), but Isabey was a daring house.
Prends-moi (take me) has now regained its place among the iconic perfumes of the House of Isabey Paris and is much more than a rebirth. Prends-moi (take me) is an ode to love and passion. For this reason, only the meaningful colour red, which is also a symbol of desire, could be used for the contemporary design of the perfume.
It is midnight in Paris. A man and a woman meet. They love each other passionately. This strong, unique and physical love carries the senses away and shakes reason. He embraces her and breathes in her perfume, while her lips, which are a passionate red, whisper these words to him: "Take me !"
The fragrance opens with a note of spicy pink pepper, leading to a double heart where innocent rose meets extremely sensual tuberose. The red satin lipstick accord becomes the forbidden lover of cocoa, carried away by the game of love.
Luca Maffei, perfumer
“I was inspired to create this fragrance by the very last moment before the act of love. Adrenaline, the warmth of skin, a kiss on the neck, a pleasant shiver. That's why I wanted to use bold and sensual ingredients that represent a veiled eroticism.”
