When to wear this fragrance
When the weight of the world seems too heavy to bear, a prayer to Saint Julep will not only bring comfort, it will give you the confidence to keep going.
Story
‘Tomorrow I will fight, but tonight I will lean back and drift into a sweet dream of whipped mint and ice.’ – Milton Nevers
On the outskirts of Clarksdale, Mississippi, at the end of a remote gravel road, stood a small, dilapidated church. It was not a place of worship, but one where many sought refuge in times of poverty. Legend has it that the building was carried by hand to the field full of wild mint, shouldered by two dozen men. The exterior remained simple and unassuming, but the interior glowed with the light of stolen neon lights, Christmas lights and a jukebox donated by the sheriff's son. The church was a decidedly secular place where locals who knew where it was could drink moonshine, socialise and dance their problems away. They called their ramshackle dive Saint Julep, and the stories passed down by word of mouth painted a picture of a magical place where ‘smiles were always free and salvation had the special scent of sweet mint.’
