Steeped in elemental contrasts, Tales of Amber is a fragrance of raw beauty and quiet power. Evoking scorched earth, sun-soaked resins and skin imbued with mineral warmth, it is a fragrance that feels timeless and is worn like a memory.
The composition unfolds in multi-layered complexity: dewdrop-fresh moss and orange blossom transition into a heart of powdery orris root (orris) and cinnamon, anchored in a deep, rich base of labdanum, Australian agarwood and New Zealand ambergris. The fragrance was created by perfumer Suzy Le Helley (Symrise). It pays tribute to the legendary amber accords of classic perfumery while giving them an unmistakably modern signature — through the use of the legendary De Laire base Amber 83, a blend of labdanum and vanillin known for its depth and exceptional longevity.
Tales of Amber begins with the mineral freshness of moss and the floral clarity of orange blossom. The heart reveals powdery iris and sun-warmed cinnamon, gently enveloped in a veil of musk and resinous cistus. The true depth of the fragrance unfolds in the finish: an opulent blend of ambergris, Australian agarwood and smoked vanilla, carried by a warm, leathery trail that lingers on the skin like sunlight on stone.
