The ‘Délire de Voyage’ collection now presents its second fragrance, dedicated to the terrible fire that broke out at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on 15 April 2019. We do not want to dwell on this date, but rather convey the true essence of this place in the world. In this extrait de parfum, Filippo Sorcinelli (known as the tailor to the popes) wanted to highlight three aspects: the moment when the fire broke out, the water on the stones and the essence that remains.
Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is undoubtedly one of the most famous and most visited places in the world. Filippo had the privilege of visiting the currently closed area and collecting images, smells and impressions. What does it smell like inside the cathedral? You might think it's an intense scent of incense. Nothing less than that! It is definitely not incense! It is smoke, it is the water flowing down the organ, the cut in the vault that lets light in from the sky, the scent of the undisturbed life of the soul. The golden cross shines, the truth is emerging.
With the proceeds from the sale of the fragrance, Filippo supports the cathedral's ensemble ‘Musique Sacrée’, the singers and musicians who preserve the precious tradition of sacred music in the cathedral.
As always, great attention has been paid to the packaging: the cap is a monolith made of burnt wood to evoke the tragic moment of the fire. The name of the fragrance is nailed to the wood. When the packaging is opened, four wings fold outwards, painted by Filippo Sorcinelli with symbols, colours and stylistic elements associated with the Cathedral of Paris: four genuine small paintings, a true and exclusive work of art.
