equality. fragrances - equality. candle

Flickering light in the darkness.

Symbolically speaking, peace is as fragile and vulnerable as the flickering light of a candle. No matter how dark it may seem around us, this small light has the ability to help us find our way in the dark. Where there is light, there is vision. Where there is light, there can be hope.

The light of the equality. candle is meant to illuminate us from within, warm us internally and spread a spark of solidarity.

We turn to the shining light that guides us through the darkness. In times of change, we light the flames of equality to encourage us to stand up, raise our voices and fight for justice.

equality. candle fills the air and our hearts with the subtle scent of warm sandalwood, spicy cardamom and gentle notes of jasmine.

Burn time approx. 80 hours.

‘For me, the 2019 European elections marked the beginning of equality.fragrances. At that time, there was a lot of coverage about the rise of far-right parties. And it scared me that there was still hatred and intolerance based on origin, skin colour, ethnicity, culture, religion, gender and sexual orientation.

Fortunately, there is more love than hate and more openness than intolerance in this world. But as during the elections, it was sometimes hard to believe. And although many people know this or secretly hope for it, I wanted to offer a simple way to remind them and encourage them to live with love and not hate. That's how I came up with a perfume. The sense of smell is one of the strongest senses we have. It can evoke memories and influence actions. It has the power to make us and everyone around us feel good. That's what equality.fragrances is all about.

equality. is not just a perfume, but a statement. No matter who wears it, they are part of a community that needs no words to understand what human values are all about.

So open yourself up, without prejudice, be human. It's in your hands.’ - Lukas Görlitz

Project – part of equality: International Justice Mission

There are more than 40 million people enslaved worldwide. One in four victims of modern slavery is a child. That's more than ever before in human history. Every day, innocent people are beaten, raped and abused in slavery. Slave traders target the poor and vulnerable. Slavery is a multi-billion-dollar industry. International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organisation with a solution to end slavery and combat violence against people living in poverty. We work around the world to rescue people from slavery.

Rescuing and empowering victims: We find children and families who are victims of violence, forced labour and forced prostitution. We support local police in rescue operations and provide victims with basic necessities such as safe shelter, food, medical care, counselling and education. We accompany survivors until they are fully able to stand on their own two feet.

Holding criminals accountable: We ensure that criminals cannot continue to harm vulnerable children, women and men. We work with local law enforcement agencies to identify, arrest and prosecute slave owners. Our lawyers and partners then fight in court to ensure that these slave owners are put behind bars.

Strengthening the justice system: Slavery still exists because traffickers and abusers are able to exploit people living in poverty with impunity. This is possible because police, judges and other officials are unable to enforce the law. We provide training, advice and support to local law enforcement agencies and other committed citizens to slow down and stop the cycle of violence.

We support the following projects:

Cybersex trade is a form of sexual abuse that was unthinkable before the digital age. Now, children are exposed to perpetrators in a global network. Child sex trade is the live streaming of sexual exploitation of children over the internet. Paedophiles and criminals around the world can search for it online and pay money to an adult who provides the stream. Boys and girls – some of them under the age of two – are abused or forced to perform sexual acts on camera. The more violent the depiction, the more the customer pays. Unlike bars or brothels with a fixed address, cybersex victims can be taken anywhere and abused anywhere there is an internet connection and a webcam or a mobile phone. Cybersex trade has become a horrific home-based industry with high profits. IJM is working with Philippine authorities and foreign law enforcement agencies to protect children in the Philippines, but also to develop a replicable model to stop cybersex trafficking from spreading worldwide.
