The Arashiyama bamboo plantation lies to the Northwest of Kyoto, running from east to west alongside a forest of giant bamboos. The air rustles delicately between the trees making them bends their heads with the wind, while sunbeams break through the bamboos, leaving me with a striking memory.
To transcribe this feeling of breathing and the explosion of green, I worked on an accord of Matcha tea, finely cut Shiso leaves, Nanah mint, blackcurrant leaves and a transparent floral hint. I translated the rays of the sun by an explosion of hesperides: luminous Yuzu, essence of bergamot oil, which has an incomparable quality encompassing all the facets of the fruit, from the skin to the juice, the sparkle of grapefruit. The fragrance evaporates slowly to leave a vibrant, sensual base of white woods and musk on the skin.
A secret meeting between earth and sky. The fragrant organic notes of bamboo, matcha tea, yuzu/bergamot and shizo leaves meld with the sound of the breeze rustling through the groves and the rays of the sun that filter through their gently swaying stems. A range of different greens mirror the vegetation’s lushness. A celestial, solar explosion of citrus, bergamot, grapefruit and yuzu reveals a luxuriant combination of Nana mint, eucalyptus and Matcha tea, in the midst of a labyrinth of bamboo. The freshness survives, as days turn to night.
