Eau d'Italie - Eau d'Italie

With “Eau d’Italie” famous perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour has created a perfect summer day on the Italian coast and at the same time the award-winning house fragrance for the picturesque hotel "Le Sirenuse" in Positano.

Here we find ourselves amongst a lemon grove on the cliffs where a cool sea breeze refreshes body and soul.

The terracotta tiles are warmed by the sun and the light breeze carries the scent of bergamot, black currant buds and yellow sweet clover. Light brush strokes of musk and frankincense complete this subtly seductive yet decisive fragrance for men and women.

Mehr über Eau d'Italie

For once, Eau d'Italie's inspiration does not stem from a journey or a love affair, but nevertheless tells the story of a great passion — namely for a hotel: Le Sirenuse, a luxurious gem with just a few dozen rooms, which nevertheless boasts five stars and has won numerous awards. It is located on Italy's beautiful Amalfi Coast in the picturesque village of Positano, which has always been popular with tourists. Positano is known above all for its vibrant colours and the many steep alleyways and stairways that make up the town's image: John Steinbeck once called Positano ‘the only vertical place in the world’.

Le Sirenuse, the small but beautiful hotel, is a family business and owned by the Sersales. Marina Sersale, scion of the family, pursued a career as a documentary filmmaker and producer after completing her studies, during which she travelled extensively around the world before finally settling in Rome, where she still lives today. It was there that she met Sebastián Alvarez Murena. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and comes from a family of writers. He lived in Spain and Switzerland before moving to Rome, where he now lives and works as a journalist and entrepreneur. In 2002, Marina and Sebastián began working on a new project: The development of a fragrance that celebrates Le Sirenuse's 50th anniversary and manages to capture the philosophy and spirit of the house. In 2004, the company's first fragrance, Eau d'Italie, was launched, accompanied by an exclusive range of body care products. At the same time, a selective distribution of the collection was launched, which was a great success — fortunately, the initial signature fragrance was followed by many other successful fragrances.
