Once upon a time ... ‘A night of wax and gold’, a festive story by Diptyque. This year, Diptyque transports you to a magical story full of wonder and fantasy — in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where the magic of the festive season comes to life.
The trio of artists behind this creation reflects the three founders of Diptyque: contemporary poet Victor Pouchet created the winter story, illustrated with surrealism and humour by Parisian illustrator and bookseller Vincent Puente. Inès Mélia, an exceptional artist, works with shapes and materials to translate the narrative elements into poetic art objects that transform the story into a tangible form.
Set in a bookshop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés a few days before Christmas, the story follows the bookseller and his mischievous, highly educated cat Archibald. The two discover a strange attraction in a small pine cone dipped in the shimmering wax of a scented candle. With each turn of the page, the magic of the festive season unfolds …
This year, Diptyque's winter icons find themselves in a fairy tale, adorned with surreal designs and golden motifs. Candle care
Your Diptyque scented candle is an exceptional handcrafted creation that requires special attention. Find out how you can get the best out of your scented candle and preserve it for a long time with just a few simple steps.
• Preparation: Please use a candle base to protect surfaces. We recommend this especially for sensitive materials such as wood or marble.
• Lighting the candle: The fragrance experience begins with just one gesture ... We recommend that you light the candle with a match to avoid any risk of burning yourself.
• For a complete fragrance experience: Leave the candle to burn under supervision until the entire wax surface has become liquid (approx. 4 hours).
• Extinguishing the candle: Use a candle snuffer to avoid dripping or staining from hot wax. Make sure to realign the wick with a wick cutter and shorten it to approx. 5 mm to ensure consistent quality the next time you light your candle.
• The last fragrances: When there is only 5 mm of wax left or the metal wick holder is visible, the candle should no longer be lit.
• Airing: It is recommended that you air your home after using a candle.
