As soon as the candle is lit, this precious accessory begins to rotate and creates a magical interplay of light and shadow. Candle sold separately.
The lantern was designed as an accessory for classic candles.
When the candle is lit, carefully place the lantern on its base. The heat from the flame sets the top in motion. The heat released differs depending on the candle, which means that the speed of rotation can vary (from slow to fast).
To remove the attachment, extinguish the candle and wait a moment until the accessory has cooled down. If possible, do not touch the top of the lantern as this is where the heat is concentrated.
When using for the first time, the candle should burn for 2 to 3 hours, at least until the wax on the surface is completely liquid.
Trim the wick regularly (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm). Make sure that the wick is upright and centred when extinguishing the candle. It is recommended to ventilate the home after using a candle.
A night of wax and gold
Once upon a time ... ‘A night of wax and gold’, a festive story by Diptyque. This year, Diptyque transports you to a magical story full of wonder and fantasy — in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where the magic of the festive season comes to life.
The trio of artists behind this creation reflects the three founders of Diptyque: contemporary poet Victor Pouchet created the winter story, illustrated with surrealism and humour by Parisian illustrator and bookseller Vincent Puente. Inès Mélia, an exceptional artist, works with shapes and materials to translate the narrative elements into poetic art objects that transform the story into a tangible form.
Set in a bookshop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés a few days before Christmas, the story follows the bookseller and his mischievous, highly educated cat Archibald. The two discover a strange attraction in a small pine cone dipped in the shimmering wax of a scented candle. With each turn of the page, the magic of the festive season unfolds …
This year, Diptyque's winter icons find themselves in a fairy tale, adorned with surreal designs and golden motifs. The boxes and wrapping paper become the precious pages of the story, imbued with poetry and light. A fairy tale that celebrates the magic of the festive season — with many loving details that playfully capture the magic of the festive season.
