Eau Rose is a tribute to the queen of flowers, the rose. Immortalised forever in Ronsard's famous poem ‘Mignonne, allons voir si la rose...’, it was only a matter of time before Diptyque decided to present a rose fragrance.
To distinguish itself from traditional rose fragrances, Eau Rose combines an ingenious blend of roses. The olfactory composition was created to capture the aromas of the blooming rose in its most natural state. Like an olfactory stroll to be enjoyed from morning to night. A rose fragrance that changes over the hours and blends with the skin of the wearer.
The top note, a clear and fresh wave of bergamot and blackcurrant, gives the rose a lively, almost spicy freshness. A flower enveloped in fresh morning dew with the fruity note of lychee, which further accentuates this floral sensation.
The heart note contains a majestic rose that appears both discreet and powerful, revealing all its strength against the subtle combination of two rose aromas. These two aromas are not just any roses – the centifolia (or Provence rose) blends with the Damask rose.
The fragrance notes are combined using a very traditional method, in which the flowers are steeped together in alcohol. This process makes the combination appear softer, more enveloping and more refined. The base note is reminiscent of a rose blossom in the evening sun, when its floral richness exudes sensual, balsamic and intense notes. To give the fragrance even more sensuality and richness, the combination is carried by the round, woody notes of white musk and the leathery, mossy and woody aromas of cedarwood, refined with a hint of sweet, delicious honey.
