The perfumes
The precious and complex creation of Clive Christian's No.1 for men contains a firework of individual fragrance notes such as: bergamot, lime, Sicilian mandarin, pink grapefruit, cardamom, nutmeg, pimento oil, thyme, artemisia oil, lily of the valley, rose, jasmine, iris and heliotrope on a base of cedarwood, sandalwood, vetiver and tonka beans – to reveal just a few of the precious ingredients.
1872 for Men contains mandarin, which was first brought to Europe from China in 1805. Mandarin is known as ‘the little heart of the sun’ because its scent awakens memories and joys of summer. In ‘1872’, the essences of clary sage, pepper, white peach and petitgrain are combined. These are rounded off with a hint of incense in the base notes.
X for Men is a modern London perfume, a sophisticated and exquisite creation from Clive Christian. The fragrance is intoxicating and highly unconventional. Cardamom oil is distilled from the seeds of the finest cardamom from Sri Lanka and combined with essences of Sicilian bergamot. The mild spiciness of red pepper and cinnamon form the base notes of ‘X for Men’. This exclusive fragrance also contains Virginia cedar oil, a highly prized oil that was already held in high esteem in ancient Egypt. Added to this are tonka bean and the seeds of Dipteryx Oppositifolia, a tree that grows in small groups around the Orinoco in Brazil.
