One word – when you read it, you hear ‘Chéri’, darling. A timeless name, French and yet particularly international. Syllables that are easy to write and memorable. A mysterious perfume brand rooted in the Golden Twenties and Art Deco, when anything was possible, when society opened up, when people travelled by plane and train to discover an exciting new world. When art exploded with creativity and the joy of life was immeasurable.

French and from Paris

The brand was founded. Initially, the shop was located at 120 Champs-Élysées in Paris, where many perfume brands were based at the time. It wasn't long before the brand was also represented in Cuba's capital, Havana. Cherigan was sought after by VIPs and film stars. It was part of the jet set of the decade, a modern brand for modern customers.

True historical niche fragrances

Several fragrances were launched in the first year, including Mascarades, Chance and Fleurs de Tabac, a spicy tobacco fragrance tempered by tonka bean and iris on a base of oak moss. In the years that followed, Bleu Impérial, La Habana Cuba, Parisienne and Jupons were created – all successful fragrances before the house fell into oblivion in the mid-1960s. All that remained were a few names that were picked up by other companies and the memory of outstanding perfumes that reflected the fashion of that era. No trace of them in the Osmothèque in Paris, but some excellent reviews from perfume lovers around the world. They were all enthusiastic about their discoveries.

The Cherigan fragrances follow this spirit: deep, sensual, diverse and elegant, they correspond to a special enjoyment of life.

Reborn

‘I discovered Cherigan in the archives of the house. Thanks to the help of collectors, bloggers and perfumers, at trade fairs and auctions, I was able to acquire iconic bottles from the house, some of which are in excellent condition. Fleurs de Tabac, Bleu Imperial, Jupons and Mascarades. The Mascarades bottle was made in the Cristalleries de Nancy and, with its pure gold design, is still a unique piece today.
