The inspiration
With its new fragrance, A'mmare, Carthusia pays tribute to its Capri DNA. As an island surrounded by deep blue sea, Carthusia is part of the soul of Capri. Like a secret garden, on a sunny day the sea carries a variety of scents into the alleys of Capri. Coral branches, shells, salt, sand and sea plants. A floral garden of vegetation and sea water that symbolises the entirety of life and vegetation on Capri. This was the inspiration for Luca Maffei, the perfumer behind A'mmare, who previously created Essence of the Park, Terra Mia, Tuberosa and the reinterpretation of Gelsomini di Capri.
The fragrance
In delicate contrast to the salt crystals, bergamot and rosemary stand out in the citrus opening. The heart then opens with aquatic and maritime notes accompanied by mint leaves. The woody base of patchouli and musk provides a harmonious finish.
The bottle
The bottle was designed exclusively by artist Paola Tassetti, who owes her international fame to a unique and recognisable language. This language is expressed in several fields, from biology to botany, archaeology to architecture.
‘It was extremely interesting to be involved in the creative and poetic rebirth of Carthusia's new perfume by imagining the scents and impressions of the island landscape from the sea,’ says Paola Tassetti. I am very happy to be part of this project. I deeply believe that art is an essential remedy for strengthening love at all times.
