The scents of the desert
The Mojave Desert is a vast prehistoric landscape stretching across southeastern California, southern Nevada, southwestern Utah and northwestern Arizona. A vast area of climatic extremes, it takes its name from a Native American term meaning ‘next to the water’. The melancholic beauty of the Mojave Desert is inviting to some, inhospitable to others. In this arid wilderness, trees and plants – older than many human civilisations – defy conditions that highlight human vulnerability.
The ghost flower is a rare plant that nevertheless grows on this parched, hard soil. Its pale, almost transparent petals suggest a delicate, fragile nature, but this amazing plant lives where no life seems possible. Its ethereal appearance belies its strength and nature.
Despite its dry habitat and inability to produce nectar, the Ghost Flower or Mohavea confertiflora maintains its perfect, majestic beauty and thrives year after year. With an astonishingly ingenious feat of mimicry, this flower attracts pollinators from neighbouring plants by developing the colouring of the female bee, thus attracting the male bee to pollinate the flower. A woody composition with a light and graceful character that slowly reveals its true strength. Intoxicating top notes of musky ambrette combine with sweet, fresh Jamaican sapodilla fruit. Delicate, powdery violet unfolds to reveal a soft finish, ending with sandalwood brightened by fresh magnolia. Finally, warm Chantilly musk rounds off the base of fresh ambergris and elegant cedarwood to keep the aura of ‘Mojave Ghost’ lingering on the skin.
The formula
The formula contains a high level of shea butter (20%). Shea butter comes from the shea nut tree, better known as the karité tree or African butter tree, which grows in West Africa. Shea butter is traded there or used for medicinal purposes, but also for beauty care.

Shea butter restores the skin's moisture content with all the essential ingredients it needs for balance, elasticity and complexion. Shea butter is used in the highest quality cosmetic products and makes the skin soft and easily absorbed.
The formula contains a blend of moisturisers that have been tested for long-lasting hydration (a combination of glycol and xylitol). The nourishing properties of shea butter are supported by the moisturising power of natural sugar, xylitol. The sugar attracts water molecules, allowing the skin to absorb and retain moisture.
