When Ben Gorham lived in Italy, he often watched Roma people washing their clothes in the nearby river. Gypsy Water is the result of Gorham's fascination with the Roma people and their lifestyle. The fragrance is a tribute to their free and independent, proud and colourful life in harmony with nature.
Gypsy Water evokes images of fresh earth, deep forests and campfires, paying homage to the centuries-old myth of the Romani way of life. Hesperides and pepper mingle in the top notes, accompanied by juniper berries that carry the fragrance into its smoky, woody heart.
Incense and pine needles, as well as iris, create impressions of forests and campfires, while the amber base with vanilla and sandalwood suggests sweet embers and colourful hustle and bustle.

The formula
The formula contains a high level of shea butter (20%). Shea butter comes from the shea nut tree, better known as the karite tree or African butter tree, which grows in West Africa. Shea butter is traded there or used for medicinal purposes, but also for beauty care.
