‘Blanche’ is an olfactory impression of the colour white, as Gorham, the creative mind behind Byredo, explains: ‘As the name suggests, “Blanche” is a composition that explores my perception of the colour white.’
But that's not all: the fragrance is also dedicated to a very special person, as Gorham reveals: "For the first time, I had a specific person in mind for whom this perfume was intended. I wanted to capture the innocent and unspoilt side of their personality with an almost transparent fragrance. The perfume is a tribute to their timeless beauty, a pure and straightforward fragrance with an extremely captivating character."
Gorham associates Blanche with the beginning of a new day, when the sunlight penetrates the fresh morning air, making its way through light linen curtains into the room, leaving bright streaks on the floorboards and shining on ‘her’ white shoulder, tenderly caressing her cheek and illuminating her silhouette. In the distance, children's laughter can be heard from another room. A new day begins and everything lies ahead of us.
