Atelier Materi - Ambre Papier
A composition centered around Siam benzoin, a rare and precious raw material with many facets. In Ambre Papier, perfumer Céline Perdriel creates an olfactory tableau of contrasts, balancing strength and softness. After a fresh and spicy opening with black pepper and red mandarin, the dark, leathery notes of saffron emerge, evoking a fiery, almost electric warmth. The benzoin then unfolds its round, smooth, and vanilla-like facets, enhanced by the elegance and depth of Haitian vetiver.
“Reimagining the scent of Papier d’Arménie, inspired by an Armenian tradition where benzoin resin is burned to fragrance interiors. This interpretation reveals the beauty of this raw material with elegance and contrast. For me, it's a tribute to heritage and the timeless allure of tradition.” — Véronique Le Bihan
“My vision for this extract was to enhance the richness of Siam benzoin. This raw material, with its warm, enveloping, and comforting nature, needed a new dimension. I sought to awaken its depth by pairing it with the bold, spicy notes of black pepper, allspice, and the majestic warmth of Greek saffron.” — Céline Perdriel, perfumer
