The property is located in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France, and is linked to the creation of one of the most legendary rock albums of all time. The fragrance embodies the magnificent garden and beautiful surroundings of the property. Aromatic, floral and refreshing.
Johan Bergelin: "Villa Nellcôte is a 16-room Belle Époque property.
In the spring of 1971, some special residents arrived with their colourful entourage and stayed for six months. The barefoot hippies, the beautiful surroundings and the sombre atmosphere created the perfect constellation for the creation of a rock album that continues to inspire people across borders and nations to this day."
The Villa Nellcôte scent journey – exile at Villa Nellcôte
An impressive house, perfect for seeking refuge. Villa Nellcôte is a large 19th-century Côte d'Azur estate overlooking the bay of Villefranche. High iron gates, fragrant pine trees and palm trees keep uninvited guests at bay. Villa Nellcôte is perhaps best described as a mixture of backstage dressing room and hotel suite. Carpets cover the floor in the damp basement. A light chiffon scarf has been draped over a lampshade to dim the light and create a mellow atmosphere. Next to the velour armchairs and rosewood table are a piano and several guitars. The basement looks like something out of Dante's Inferno with its shabby, damp walls and stuffy air. But the sound when recording is raw and incomparable. On the lawn in front of the house, among magnolia blossoms, jasmine and sweet-smelling flower beds, someone has set up a teepee. White marble steps lead to a small, private stone beach. On the upper floor of the building, vases filled with roses and flowers from the garden fill the property with their magnificent scent. Fan merchandise in the form of cardboard cut-outs and posters lie next to the baroque fireplace, while cigarette butts, empty teacups and wine bottles lie on the dining table under the chandelier. This house is fantastic. Like a little Versailles. Never before has a house been so closely associated with the creation of a rock album. This summer would change music history forever. The Villa Nellcôte fragrance embodies the magnificent garden and surroundings of the building of the same name.
