More about St Johns
The history of St Johns Bay Rum
It all began 70 years ago with US Navy officer John Webb, who was stationed in the Virgin Islands during World War II, and a single ingredient – bay oil – a remedy used by the indigenous people for health and beauty. Webb was fascinated by the rich history of the bay rum industry and blended this versatile essential oil with exotic Caribbean spices to create a distinctly masculine fragrance. He then packaged the bottles by hand in palm fronds from the island. From then on, a piece of this fascinating place found its way to the United States thanks to St Johns Bay Rum. The world-famous ‘Fishpot Weave’ bottles have been legendary ever since and embody the characteristics of the St Johns Bay Rum brand: authentic, special, timeless and traditional.
Today, the St Johns Fragrance Company continues this tradition, handcrafting the finest fragrances, remaining true to the original recipes and developing them for the modern man of today. St Johns Bay Rum is a proud classic with the aim of being an important part of every man's daily grooming routine.
