Erik Kormann’s fragrance "November" appeared during the summer heat wave of 2015 in which new temperature records were set. Some may find this ill-timed, but we think it was a brilliant move on Erik’s part. When the sun mercilessly beats down upon us, our yearning for the cooler seasons of the year is at its greatest. Ultimately, we always yearn for what we cannot have and just like the Rolling Stones sung: "You can’t always get what you want". So now even the gray, wet and cold November which we normally have little love for, appears like a cool, refreshing savior for our poor, heat-tormented souls.
As a harbinger of Advent, November holds a lot of treats and delicacies. This is hinted at in the bottle designed by Jo Zarth whose front side is presented in a rich, chocolaty brown.
At first our nose dives into unexpected fresh and floral notes and then cardamom bestows its bright spicy character. Even though frankincense is the star of the creation, the intensely aromatic resin leaves sufficient space for other actors such as fir balsam, heliotrope and of course the refined, vanilla-infused dark chocolate note. The result is a warm, overall balmy impression, delicious, but not too sweet, intense yet well-tempered.
With "11 - November", Erik Kormann welcomes in the cooler season of the year. Wind Moon or Nebelung are the evocative old German names for the month of November and with this fragrance the cold days are certainly kept at bay under the auspices of comfort and well-being.
