More about Mezel Paris
Mezel Paris is a haute perfumery house with Moroccan heritage and Parisian flair. Founded by Sophia Gyé-Jacquot, the brand unites the cultural depth of Morocco with the creative sophistication of France. After more than ten years working in renowned perfume houses in Paris and London, Mezel has emerged as a vision of haute perfumery that respects tradition without resorting to clichés and reinterprets cultural rituals from a bold, contemporary perspective.
The name Mezel means "at the dawn of possibilities" in Arabic. It describes a fleeting moment of beginnings, where everything is open and inspiration arises. This attitude shapes the brand as well as its fragrances. Mezel Paris is for people who want to discover things differently, who seek depth, and who leave their mark quietly but consciously. The soul of the house is rooted in Morocco, a land of rich sensory experiences, living rituals, and generous hospitality. There, fragrance is part of everyday life, accompanying seasons, ceremonies, and memories, and is passed down like a cultural heritage.
Mezel Paris stands for elegant, multifaceted unisex fragrances with authentic storytelling. Moroccan warmth and sensuality meet Parisian clarity and restraint. The compositions thrive on contrasts, on depth and light, on expression and control. Bold, but never loud. Modern, without denying their heritage.
The brand doesn't see itself as a green brand in the traditional sense, but rather as an honest company with high standards and a strong sense of responsibility. All formulas are vegan, made in France, and carefully designed. The bottles are built to last, feature the signature gold accents, and are made from at least 20% recycled glass. Mezel Paris takes its path step by step, guided by the ambition to continuously improve.
Mezel Paris is haute perfumery that bridges cultures. A brand with identity, depth, and attitude. Different, without being pushy.
The signature musk chord
In Arabic culture, musk has always been considered purifying and protective. In Western cultures, it represents texture, modernity, and a close connection to the skin. Mezel's signature musk accord is present in every fragrance, uniting these two worlds: soft, long-lasting, and designed to blend seamlessly with the skin. This gives each fragrance its unmistakable Mezel signature.
The bottle
The bottle design was inspired by the architecture of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, as seen from above. The mosque was commissioned by King Hassan II and designed by a French architect. It is considered a symbol of openness – accessible to all, regardless of origin, religion, or gender.
Each Mezel Paris bottle is adorned with golden threads – a distinctive detail that tells a story of connection. It symbolizes the link between Morocco and France, between craftsmanship and creativity, between tradition and reinvention.
