Masakï Matsushima drew inspiration for this new men's line from Japan's unique urban planning. Here, architects create a concrete-heavy, raw and almost chaotic landscape, alongside an omnipresent nature based on Zen principles. Mat; homme was born out of these bizarre urban landscapes. The fragrance was composed by French perfumer Jérôme Di Marino, who collaborated with the Japanese designer.
This duo explores the themes that define the brand's essence to create unique and distinctive conceptual fragrances. The powerful and contrasting fragrance is reminiscent of today's new generation of men who are deeply committed to preserving their environment and building an innovative and modern future.
The style: natural, urban, minimalist, conceptual, raw.
Bottle and packaging
The iconic avant-garde bottle of the Masakï line for men is made of frosted glass with a green-khaki colour gradient, giving it a raw and wild look that is softened by the soft touch that completes this set. The black lettering reinforces the masculine side of this line, lending it elegance and modernity. The packaging is made of cardboard, a natural material that strengthens the deep connection between the fragrance and what inspired the designer: nature and urban life.

‘By working with an Asian cult note, I was able to breathe Japanese soul into the fragrance. The delicate citrus freshness of Szechuan pepper forms the basis of an elegant and refined note, like a Japanese sketch. Spices that reflect the clean lines and power of nature. Of the five elements used in Feng Shui, I chose wood, particularly for its energy and strength. An effervescent freshness for new impulses.’
The fragrance
Woody, aromatic, spicy. A fragrance full of contrasts, led by spices that resonate in tandem. A citrusy start with Sichuan pepper and lime, followed by resinous variations of elemi, accompanied by cedar leaves. A trail of sensual impulses of cinnamon that echoes the sweetness of cashmere wood.
