Niji (虹), which means ‘rainbow’ in Japanese, symbolises harmony and beauty. In Japanese culture, the rainbow symbolises a perfect blend of different elements that come together to create something exceptionally beautiful — eternal beauty found in nature.
The shape of the rainbow inspired the design of the U-shaped bottle. Hand-painted watercolours flow across the design, capturing the ethereal way the colours in the sky cascade into each other as a delicate symphony of light. The soft green tone conveys a sense of calm and is reminiscent of the serene natural world where rainbows come to life.
Much like the gentle beauty of a rainbow, the fragrance is light and airy. It seamlessly blends a mix of fruity vibrancy, bright florals and warm, soothing woods, taking the wearer on a journey through each colour as the fragrance unfolds. It was developed for the elegant, young woman who finds beauty in the unexpected — a soul drawn to the subtle harmony of nature, where light and colour blend in perfect balance.
“When creating Niji, I was inspired by the harmony and beauty of nature. For me, the rainbow represents the birth of eternal beauty, harmonious yet rich in contrast through the combination of two opposing natural phenomena: sun and rain.” — Leonardo Lucheze, perfumer
Niji mat; begins with the lively freshness of mandarin oil, complemented by juicy melon, a hint of cherry and crisp pear. In the heart, luminous, aquatic marine notes combine with delicate lily of the valley, ylang-ylang oil and rose oil, while jasmine lends a sun-kissed radiance. Base notes linger with the warm embrace of cashmeran and ambroxan, deepened by the creamy richness of tonka bean and vanilla absolute, leaving a soft, musky trail that feels both soothing and sophisticated.
Perfumer's comment
“I wanted to capture the harmony of the colours of the rainbow in my creation by infusing each one into a note with balanced precision.
In the top note, fruity accents reflect the vibrant colours of the rainbow, creating a red gradient through cherry, pear, mandarin and melon. The heart reveals floral notes that add luminosity to the fragrance, with a sunny blend of jasmine and ylang-ylang, contrasted by a breeze of lily of the valley and marine notes.
The soothing, darker tones of the rainbow emerge once the rain has passed. The elegance of cashmeran and musk, combined with the delicate warmth of vanilla, form the harmonious base of Niji.” — Leonardo Lucheze
