Anthologie - Par Amour Pour Elle

An anthem of love for a woman. The spring nuances of wild Hyacinth, the charming aura of Indian Tuberose, the dark sensuality of white Jasmine. And still, the immaculate grace of Orange blossom and the high sex appeal of musky scents… For a fragrance whose olfactory writing is as mysterious as love.

The Hyacinth announces spring. Both with is colours, and its smell. Someone says that no other bulb smells so intensely as hyacinths. A flower with an ancient taste, that speaks of old houses and waxed furniture, that also evokes the image of a meadow covered by the rain. Pure poetry.

Its botanical name is Hyacinthus. But the term also boasts Greek-Albanian origins: “giak” (meaning purple or dark red), together with the suffix -“inthos” (plant). Both myths and legends have been written about it. Indeed, it is mentioned by the classics and celebrated in Greek mythology. It became a bed for Aphrodite who wanted to seduce Paris. In Sparta the feast of hyacinths was celebrated and it was the flower of lovers for the Britons.

Sensory

A person's sensory perception.

‘A summer evening in 1950. I was five years old. I was lying next to my grandfather on a bed of freshly made hay near a jasmine field. Together we contemplated the stars as they shone in the infinity of a fascinating, deep black night, in the diffuse humidity after a sultry day. Something unknown was awakened in me: I didn't yet know the meaning of the word ‘senses’, but in a strange way I was overcome by a feeling as if the space around me had expanded into a new dimension. In fact, thanks to my grandfather, I had understood for the first time – and without realising the significance – the extraordinary and mysterious ability of all living beings to develop in our universe with the help of 12 senses.

Over the years, this memory has remained so meaningful to me that I keep coming back to it when I need inspiration for my work of creation ...’
