Maître Lucien Ferrero
English ‘Master’, a person who has mastered an art. Lucien Ferrero was born in Grasse, France, in 1946. After studying perfumery in Geneva, he continued to develop his creative craft in Paris before joining Expressions Parfumées in Grasse.
He is a passionate advocate of natural perfumes and shares his love for Provence, his personal source of olfactory emotions and memories. In his 46 years as a perfumer, he has created over 50,000 fragrance compositions.

‘A summer evening in 1950. I was five years old. I was lying next to my grandfather on a bed of freshly made hay near a jasmine field. Together we contemplated the stars as they shone in the infinity of a fascinating, deep black night, in the diffuse humidity after a sultry day. Something unknown was awakened in me: I didn't yet know the meaning of the word ‘senses’, but in a strange way I was overcome by a feeling as if the space around me had expanded into a new dimension. In fact, thanks to my grandfather, I had understood for the first time – and without realising the significance – the extraordinary and mysterious ability of all living beings to develop in our universe with the help of 12 senses.
