More about DER DUFT
DER DUFT was founded by Anselm Skogstad, a German-American artist and photojournalist from Munich. Anselm studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and the School of Visual Art in New York. He has worked for photographers Christopher Makos and David Lachapelle, among others, as well as for Magnum Photos, where the foundation for his artistic work was laid.
Anselm's love of fragrances goes back a long way. Even as a child, his family was amazed at how he could distinguish between different scents and impressed by his sensitivity to fragrances. As a teenager, he began collecting perfumes, and it was always the combination of olfactory and aesthetic beauty that fascinated him. While working on photographic projects in Asia, it was a friend in Hong Kong who further stimulated his passion for fragrances. Perhaps it was the environment combined with the exotic Asian scents that inspired him to explore a new artistic field. A stay in Grasse, the Mecca of perfume art, then gave him a deeper insight into the conception and production of perfumes. In his projects in America, Europe, Africa and Asia, Anselm developed a photographic style that captures the character of people, their lifestyle or general abstract ideas. He also transferred this way of thinking to his perfumes. The names of the individual fragrances inspire individual stories or bring personal memories to life.
The brand name DER DUFT and the minimalist presentation are designed to allow the wearer to concentrate exclusively on the fragrance. The focus is on the essence, the scent. Timeless fragrances in modern compositions.
