More about Clive Christian
Clive Christian is one of England's finest interior designers. Stephen Gray, the managing director, was looking for a perfumery with experience and tradition, and found one in his own country: The Crown Perfumery. There, Clive Christian's talent and passion were combined with exquisite fragrances to create the finest fragrances, the haute couture of perfumery.
Clive Christian launched his fragrances with the remark: "Perfume making is an art form—in the same genre as music and painting. A fragrance represents the most personal, individual communication to one's surroundings and is meant to enhance rather than define a person."
Today, women's and men's fragrances are offered that are among the most exquisite that English perfumery has to offer. The first bottle of the No. 1 Special Commission is in the shape of a tiara with a gold cuff. It was created in honour of the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It can now be admired in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Other Special Commissions to date have included a football boot, an Oscar, and a yacht. Any motif can be designed and produced upon request, but a delivery time of approximately six months and a price of €50,000 must be expected. Clive Christian 's philosophy and artistry are also reflected in the artistic packaging. The Signature Collection is encased in a hand-crafted lead crystal bottle and adorned with a solid crystal crown and a gold cuff. This cuff is set with diamonds, while the new owner's monogram is engraved into the bottle.
If you're looking for something less personal, the men's and women's fragrances are available in 50ml eau de parfums. These bottles also feature the crown, based on the original design given to the perfumers of the Crown Perfumery by Queen Victoria in recognition of their quality and excellence.
