What does Elixir mean and how does it relate to fragrance?
"In Greek mythology, the “elixir of life” is a potion that grants immortality. In a way, a fragrance can do the same, because fragrance transcends time. Sit down with someone and breathe in their scent! You will receive one of the most beautiful gifts: a memory that will live on forever. You may not have seen someone for years, but with a whiff of their scent, a flood of memories comes back, dreams are revived, love is rekindled. In my opinion, one of the greatest compliments is when others remember you by your scent."
What was the inspiration for Elixir?
"I've always compared perfumers to alchemists. We create magic: fragrances that transport their wearers away from everyday life, that make people feel prouder because they feel sexier and more confident. With Elixir, I wanted to play with the idea of life and create a fragrance that makes its wearer feel that anything is possible. In my mind, I had the image of a woman radiating light, as if she were a goddess.‘
Who did you have in mind when you created Elixir?
’Elixir is the female counterpart to Elysium. Like Elysium, Elixir was created for a strong, confident person who simply wants to smell fabulous. A fragrance for a woman who enters a room and literally lights it up with confidence and effortless sensuality. She knows what she wants, and the fragrance – paired with her seductive sensuality – helps her get it."
How do you communicate the idea of Elixir with the images you have created?
‘When you look at the Elixir motifs, you see light shining from the bottle – a corona reminiscent of life and sensuality. The bottle stands on the water like a goddess emerging from the sea – a reflection of my ethereal vision.’
How do you communicate the idea of Elixir through the ingredients you use?
"As a sensual seduction, it had to be an oriental creation. This is one of the sexiest fragrances I have ever created, with seductive notes of rose, white flowers and mouth-watering peach and raspberry. Opulent and soft, iris reinforces the seductive elements, whispering a promise, knowing no “maybe”. The base is rich in vanilla, woods and musk. The result is a sensual nirvana, an enveloping sensation with a message of unmistakable temptation."
