Inspired by the beauty and elegance of the Empress, François Alexandre Rancé composed a fragrance in honour of this fascinating woman on the occasion of Eugénie's marriage to Napoleon III on 30 January 1853. In doing so, he continued the tradition of his grandfather François Rancé, who was a member of the illustrious circle of French court perfumers.
He had already dedicated a fragrance to Empress Joséphine, Napoleon I's beloved wife, which bore her name and captured her essence. Jeanne Sandra Rancé, the great-great-granddaughter of the founder, had already reissued the fragrance Joséphine. Now, with Eugénie, she is bringing another gem from the family treasure trove back to life.
The classic, romantic bottle is inspired by the charisma of the empress, who had a decisive influence on the fashion of her time and whose exquisite taste was much admired and copied.
The ‘Eugénie’ eau de parfum captures the charm and grace of an extraordinary empress who captivated not only France but all of Europe with her charm, enchanting smile and timeless nobility. The fragrance composition consists of selected, precious ingredients for the elegant, graceful and stylish woman who appreciates tradition.
The floral top notes of lily of the valley, white flowers and bergamot contain fresh accords of mandarin, melon and passion fruit. In the heart notes, rose, violet leaf, jasmine and magnolia harmoniously surround orange blossom and peach. This floral, fresh fragrance is rounded off by warm notes of vanilla, iris and amber, as well as sandalwood, oak moss and vetiver.
The fragrance exudes an intense feminine aura that seduces the heart, mind and senses. Eugénie brings the art of perfumery and the luxury of the 19th century back to life.
