Located at the crossroads of continents, AlUla was for centuries a hub for caravans on the incense trade route that connected Asia, Africa and Europe and traditionally transported high-quality goods. AlUla is a journey for the senses between ochre-coloured sandstone on one side and black basalt on the other. In the land of sanctuaries, rock tombs and caravan routes, the air is dry, yet it is this same air that has preserved relics and other treasures from another millennium.
AlUla takes you on an olfactory journey to a garden of ripe plum trees, which lend the resinous, woody scent of incense a delicious, fruity note. This blend is anchored by a balsamic vanilla, creating an opulent eau de parfum that invites you to dream of another world.
Trade Routes
The collection comprises fragrances that are inspired by the luxurious and decadent commodities which were traded through London’s historic docks at the turn of the 19th Century. The rarest treasures from the far flung corners of the world piled up in abundance on the quays and every day more and more arrived. The warehouses were full with feathers, spices, silk, rare woods, tea, animal skins, fine porcelain, precious metals and gems. London was in a frenzy. London was the warehouse of the world. The preciousness and elegance of the goods that were traded on the London Docks inspired Penhaligon's to create their fragrance collection "Trade Routes".
