The Taif rose originates from a mountainous region in Saudi Arabia, 2,000 metres above sea level, and only blooms in April. It must be picked before the sun touches its petals in order to preserve the precious oil of this flower. It takes around 40,000 flowers to produce 10 grams of perfume oil worth approximately £1,200. Roja Parfums celebrates this precious ingredient with a new fragrance in its legendary Aoud collection.
As Saudi Arabia's summer capital, the mountainous region of Taif offers a cool refuge from the heat. As far as the eye can see, fields of precious Taif roses grow on the slopes. This legendary Arabian rose is refreshed by sparkling aldehydes, bergamot and juicy currant, while the intoxicating scent of burning incense and oud bakhoor mingles in the air. Wearing Taif Aoud Parfum means feeling the warmth of the sun and a cool breeze from the mountains on your skin.
"This fragrance captures the legendary beauty of roses from two worlds. The rarest of all roses, the Rose de Mai from the town of Grasse, nestled in the slopes of the Alpes-Maritimes, is surrounded by the Taif rose from the mountains of Saudi Arabia. The appeal of these famous roses is enhanced by sparkling aldehydes and captured in a warm embrace of precious oud wood." – Roja Dove.
